John: Location Drawing
This is a small section of the physical studio drawings from around huddersfield, I picked them because there are small parts of each one I like individually. In the top left this is my view of byram arcade whilst sat in a coffee shop as you can see I decided to use coffee as a media/canvas to see how it affected the ink in my pens I really like the effect is had against the black and I also feel more connected to the drawing as the media is sourced from my location. The top right is a sketch of a window ledge as I liked the detailing and shapes that were carved into the wood I used the grey palette of rendering markers because they were close to the tone of the wood and I could use them to show the light on the wood. The bottom selection are more experiments than anything because I used media like oil pastels and then indian ink with water I like the way it bleeds into the page at it looks gothic and soulless. The logo in the bottom right was just a reference to the font style used in the sign, I like the way the letters contribute to the shape of the logo it flows and gives off a retro vibe.
