John: Still life drawing

During my tri-weekly session with John this time we were studying still life drawing. My first composition was the different scaled letter, I found this task easy as I like working with typography and the added task of dimension was a challenge but the drawing studies are there to help develop our styles. I enjoyed this one the most because I have quite a freehand style of working so I don't like being restricted, the angles and shapes in this allowed me to be more free with how I drew them. The second one was the stack of boxes, I enjoyed the geometric style this was in but it was very precise and measured so it didn't suit my style of working. Saying that I do like the outcome as I think the rendering markers gave a really nice texture effect in the way that I used them.
