John: Interior Studio

Above are a selection of drawings I did from the inside of the creative arts building using line and colour along with shade to show scale and perspective. The top left is a drawing I did of a glass presentation box showing some textiles work from a student. Firstly I drew the box using a brush pen using thick flowing lines to exaggerate the shape of the box almost in a cartoon form, next I drew the clothing piece in oil pastel because there were some blended colours in the fabric and it was a very abstract piece so there were no straight lines this means I could make the composition like a concept drawing as it was more effective with the style.

At the bottom there is a perceptive drawing from the second floor balcony. There was a lot of glass to draw which has no colour so I left the rest of the drawing blank and used a little bit of a shade using graphite to help show dimension in some areas. To show the reflective effect of glass I used blue and back lines as if the light was across the surface.

Finally the top right is the view from the studio window, I wanted to show the movement of people through the city so I drew the crossing as this is a very busy place in the uni and will show people moving. The other drawings is just a sketch in black fine liners then I added a bit of colour using the pro markers mainly different shades of grey but I added small bits of colour here and there.
